I was away for maybe a good 10 years and things have really happened. Or not happened, but disappeared.

QB in particular has lost its popularity. I remember well the times when Pete published his own "magazine" and I myself was producing Pcopy while it lasted.

But not only for QB, but also for BASIC itself it seems pretty bad. Many sites that I still remembered after a decade have either disappeared or become just archives.

I myself have thought that one option could be the fragmentation of BASIC programmers.

QB, QB64, FB, GWBasic, YaBasic... all wanted their own communities.

I even remember how the release of FB made some people angry that it was not 100% the same as the "real" QB.

Instead of different BASIC variations and their users bickering about who likes the right BASIC and who likes the wrong BASIC, we could enjoy the fact that everyone probably finds their own favorite.

Now, unfortunately, it seems that even QB64 and FB are going to the depths of the archives.
