If you're going to use it for work, then I wouldn't go with the rx1950. Choose a higher-end model.
I bought my 1st PPC with the dream of programming on the go. But - it's just not well suited for that kind of work. Tapping in code gets old. I did buy a small keyboard for it - that helps some, but I still always feel 'cramped' when writing on it more than 10 minutes.
I have coded some decent Qbasic/QB programs on it using a cool app called PocketDOS - a genius DOS emulator that lets you runs most DOS programs - even games like loom & monkey island. Qbasic and QB compiled programs runs perfect under PocketDOS.
