From the other side of the coin...

I'm a Java and Perl dev professionally. I was big into C++ back in the early/mid 2000s but not anymore. I haven't really touched it since around 2012 or so. I'm not sure I'd want to do it professionally at this point. (I'm way behind the times on things in the C++ world).

That said, I also enjoy programming in COBOL as well soooo.... maybe take my opinion with a unhealthy bucket of salt. haha
