Repeated uses of INPUT$ with very small buffer causes crashes->

or even immediate freezing. GET on the other hand does not suffer from that issue. It must have to do with how those functions work internally. I considered trying an experiment with C but I am not sure how I'd check for memory corruption other than vague symptoms. How might you test this in C?
