Hi Plasma, thank u for your answer...
...actually it is a light pen, i just thought that maybe there's a way of doing it by software, of course always has to be some part of hardware but i want it at the minimal because its price.
in this way i want to do in hardware just the sensor (fototransistor) and the buttons, but the part of detecting the position of the beam i want to do it by software, because anyway there's a part of software too.
So, what do you think about my idea of doing it in this way?
i know that internally in the videocard there are two counters (maybe more): the line counter (Y), and the character counter (x), so it's just make the calcs and latch those values to the mouse coordinates when the sensor detects the beam. It's not so dificult right?
...but, where are the registers of the counters? or maybe they are just in a circuit level and the software can't see them?.
I hope you can help me, because i couldn't find someone that can.
THK man!.
