Hobby vs job->
Okay, personally I believe making your hobby into your job can take the fun out of it.
May I ask what kind of stuff you develop in C++?
Yeah, I've heard other developers complain about Java too. It seems like it is a bit of an unfortunate mishmesh between classic C/C++ and some more modern paradigms that make it slow and awkward. I believe Java used to have some supporters, probably among hobbyists and web developers.
How do you feel about C#? From what I gather it is a far more successful attempt at creatinga modern programming language derived from C/C++.

I still play with really old languages, just for the fun of it when bored.
