I'll admit, I used Plasma's FlatForum as a base for my forum -- mostly the flatfile database management. I've been using FlatForum for years now, but I decided that I should write my own. My spam filter was added just a few days ago -- it basically renames the 'name' field to 'pumpkin', and adds a second name field with 'style="display: none"' and 'name="name"' as its attributes. The spam fills out the wrong field and it catches it. I have filters set up for things like 'a href' and stuff like that, too.
BTW, genius site you have - I'd heard of it, but I've only now just gone there. Excellent, I'll definitely be a repeat visitor.
