Well, almost 30% of the size come from comments,

...so it's smaller than it looks. :)

The anti spam things are worth the extra code. The filter file is a cool thing too. I think all the new features are needed for a well managed forum.

Have you submitted flatforum to any script sites, like hotscripts? I think it would be a popular download.
