I don't have an SB Live, but

I think those are the "audio extension" pins, for the daughterboard (SPDIF, TOSLINK, and MIDI connectors).

There should be an internal analog mic connector on the card (next to the rear mic jack), but if you want analog line out you'll have to solder some piggyback wires on the rear line out jack. (Which I have actually done before, and it works fine.)
