actually we were supposed to upgrade to mysql 5 last year

But it was decided against since it would break a lot of existing scripts....dunno what the ETA is now. If I remember correctly, the PHP 5 ugprade happened almost a year after it was originally announced, so maybe soon? Can't make any promises though, and I don't have any control over it. :(
